Hello and thank you for your interest in volunteering at the insectarium. Coordinating volunteers is a job in itself and we are only a couple of people, so while we do need help, we need people who are independent and take initiative. We prefer that you have visited the insectarium before inquiring about volunteering. Thank you!

Can my child volunteer for you?
We have an internship program for ages 8-15.

Volunteer Duties

Regular volunteer duties available:

• writing a newsletter/creating a mailing list
• taking admission
• social media
• stocking the gift shop
• cleaning, sanitizing, organizing
• feeding bugs and caring for plants
• ​talking to guests and answering questions
• driving and running errands
• help with special events

Volunteers can help out as much or as little as they want. We prioritize volunteers that can help with guests. You do not need to know everything, just talk to people about bugs! We prefer longer term volunteers (3+ months) and those who can commit to a schedule, even if limited. Volunteers who help consistently or who have been around a while are prioritized for special projects and potential paid opportunities.
