Special events, including tarantula handling, require tickets purchased ahead of time (unless noted otherwise)
READ BEFORE PURCHASING: No refunds for no-shows for less than 24hr notice cancelations, full refund if canceled more than 3 days before event, 50% refund if canceled within 1-3 days of event. We can also move your appointment to another day/time. If you would like us to reschedule you for general admission you have 48 hours from the your original booking to choose a new date. For classes and other events, we require 24 hours notice that you will not be attending and then you have 48 hours from your original booking to reschedule. If you arrive more than 15 min before a ticketed event, you will be charged regular zoo admission on top of the event ticket ($10 adults, $7 kids), or you can book the general admission time slot before ahead of time.

Tarantula Handling - read below before purchasing
Our handling tarantulas are slow and gentle and have experience being handled, photographed, and petted. They have never bitten anyone or shown any defensive behaviors. Learn about tarantula biology, behavior, and natural history in this one-hour tarantula handling session.
If you would like to spend more than one hour at the insectarium outside of the handling session, book the "Tarantula handling plus" ticket and arrive 30 minutes before the session starts.
Everyone attending must have a ticket, even if they are not touching the tarantula. Children under age 15 must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket.
