PDX Insectarium Summer Camp
Join us for an exciting hands-on summer camp designed for young bug enthusiasts (ages 10-18). Each day focuses on different aspects of entomology, from animal care to pinning and field identification. Choose individual days or sign up for the full experience at a discount! Dates 29 Jul-01 Aug Full Camp Discount! Enroll in all 4 days for *$200 (save $40) and receive a Certificate of Completion. Space is limited (8 spots per day), sign up now and explore the incredible world of bugs this summer! Basic entomology (2 hours) Guided tour of the Insectarium (1 hour) Take-home materials: info packet Wednesday 9am-1pm: Insect Care & Husbandry ($60)
Hands-on care lessons for mantises, jumping spiders, tarantulas, scorpions, isopods, cockroaches, and beetles Take-home materials: care sheets & optional pet bug starter kit ($20) Thursday 10am-1pm: Insect Pinning Workshop ($95)
Learn how to relax, pin, and preserve dead insects (3 hours) Take-home materials: 2-3 pinned insects & a shadowbox Friday 10am-1pm: Insect Identification & Field Walk ($40)
