Spring Break Youth Art Show - Call for Artists
We are looking for some cool bug art made by kids! The art will hang on the walls in the insectarium for one month and will be for sale to the public. We will have a FREE opening reception on 21 March 2026 where you can meet the artists and see our bugs. More information about the reception will be available as the date gets closer, but for now we are looking for submissions! The submission deadline is 07 March.

If you book tickets online (preferred):
- one food item: get a sticker or small bug toy
- three food items: get a free future admission or three stickers/toys
Walk-ins:
- one food item: get a sticker, bug toy, or $1 off admission
- three food items: one free admission (same day or future), or three stickers/toys
Food not Bombs accepts only vegan items, but other items will be donated to free pantries.

No refunds for no-shows or less than 24 hr notice cancellations, full refund if canceled more than 3 days before event, 50% refund if canceled within 1–3 days of event. We can transfer your ticket to another day or time if you contact us by email with 24 hours notice. You are welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else by forwarding them your confirmation email.

- 30 min is enough time to see most of the displays.
- 45 is recommended if you want to ask questions, see the smaller bugs, explore the bug touching station, or if you have kids that want to play with toys, costumes, and sit at the table and color or do a puzzle.

- If you arrive late for your appointment, we can only allow you in if there is space.
- If you arrive more than 15 min before a ticketed event, you will be charged regular zoo admission on top of the event ticket.
- If a time slot or event is locked or not available, we are either fully booked or closed and not taking walk-ins. Please do not show up without a ticket in this case, we will not be able to accommodate you.

When booking online there is a small service fee, this is why online booking is slightly cheaper. By purchasing a ticket online, you are guaranteed a spot, but walk-ins may be asked to wait or come back later if we are fully booked.
